When I Feel the Weight is a deeply emotional dancer painting about worship, survival, and movement in the middle of pain. It reflects the moment when the body feels heavy, but the spirit still reaches for God.
The Story Behind the Piece
When I Feel the Weight was painted during a season of overwhelming emotional and spiritual heaviness.
This piece came from a place where words were not enough. I painted through pain, prayer, worship, anger, exhaustion, and the feeling of trying to stay alive emotionally. The image shows a woman dancing in the middle of soul-crushing weight. Her body feels heavy. She may not feel like dancing. She may not even have a reason to dance. But still, she moves. Still, she praises God.
The dancer becomes a symbol of survival. Not the pretty, polished kind. The raw kind. The kind where praise is not always soft or graceful. Sometimes praise looks like fighting for breath. Sometimes worship comes through tears, tension, screaming, and choosing not to give up.
This painting is for the person who knows what it feels like to carry too much and still reach upward.
